Paradip, Sept 1: Due to dispute between intra-port transport dumper unions, Jagatsinghpur district administration applied Section 144 CrPC at the Paradip port and other sensitive areas in Paradip on Wednesday.
Around 20 platoons of police force have been deployed by the district administration at the port to keep law and order under control.
As per the information, Paradip Stevedores Association is strongly opposing the work given to Seaways Shipping and logistic Private limited (SSPL) of unloading 15,000 MT limestone from MV Kamari ship of SAIL.
A similar incident of stevedoring issues which happened last year had also paralyzed all operations at the port for around seven days.
