Investment proposals worth Rs 420.35 cr approved by SLSWCA

Bhubaneswar, Feb 24: In-principle approval to as many as three investment proposals worth Rs 420.35 crore has been accorded by the State Level single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA).

Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi Padhi has advised IPICOL and State Level Technical committee to promote more employment intensive and downstream industries in Odisha.

Replying to media queries after the meeting, General Manager, IPICOL Kalyan Mohanty said that the approved projects include the proposal of M/S Grid Construction Limited to set up 60,000 IPA aluminium and aluminium  conductors manufacturing unit at an investment of Rs 127.35 crore at Angul Almunium Park, Angul.

“This unit would provide direct employment to 50 persons”, he said, adding the other two projects include the proposal of M/S Som Distilleries and Breweries Odisha Private Limited  to set up 10 lakh hecto-liters capacity brewing industry and 10.8 lakh hector-liters per annum capacity bottling plant near Khurda at a total investment of Rs 193 crore.

Mohanty stated the proposal of M/S Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited to set up a LPG bottling plant at Bolangir at a total investment of Rs 100 crore too was accorded approval by the SLSWCA. “These two plants are expected to create 493 direct and indirect employment opportunities”, he said.

Padhi said he reviewed the progress of investment proposals approved earlier along with members of State Project Monitoring Group (SPMG).

“The reviewed projects included M/S Transmission  mining projects of OMC, construction of 220 KV Transmission line from Laxmipur to Damanjodi by M/S Nalco,  M/S Tosali Cement Private Limited, M/S Aditya Almunium Project, M/S- Bhusan Steel Limited., Odisha power Generation Corporation Limited and M/S- Emami Cement Limited.

“The issues relating to land acquisition, forest diversion, construction of approach road, DGPS survey, power supply, use of water etc were discussed and resolved in the meeting”, said the Chief Secretary.
