Bhubaneswar, Nov 2: The Jan Sampark Padyatra launched by the ruling BJD party for a month to make people aware about the Mahanadi issue and the various welfare initiatives in Odisha by the State Government, will end today.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will attend the concluding ceremony that will be held at Dharmasala in Jajpur district. Patnaik will also join the last day Padayatra that will be held at the Kalpataru Das Sisu Udyan and later will attend the meeting at the Dharmasala Mahotshav ground.
The inauguration and foundation stone ceremony for 268 projects will be conducted by the Chief Minister today.
Besides, 25 Congress and 10 BJP activists have been detained by the Dharmashala police prior to the Chief Minister’s visit to the district.
Noatbly, the BJD undertakes a 10-day ‘Jan Sampark Padayatra’ from Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 till Jayprakash Narayan Jayanti on October 11 every year. However this year, the Padyatra was held for a month.
