Bhubaneswar: Sep 11: Two more flight services to be started from Veer Surendra Sai (VSS) Airport in Jharsuguda. Informing regarding the new flight operation from Veer Surendra Sai airport, Chief Secretary of Odisha Asit Tripathy said on Wednesday, new flights from the airport will connect to Bangalore and Kolkata.
Jharsuguda airport has five flight services at present and two more to be introduced during the winter schedule.
Meeting of the regional air connectivity held here at State Secretariat decided to provide additional fire services and Police at the Veer Surendra Sai Airport. The meeting also discussed regarding the expansion of Rourkela and Jeypore Airstrips.
Chief Secretary further informed that, the tender process for Jeypore Airstrip Project has been completed and the land acquisition process has begun.
Also, a review meeting was held with the district collector of Kalahandi regarding the land acquisition of Utkela Airport.
