Bhubaneswar, July 21: On completion of one year launch of National Career Service Portal, dated 20th July 2016, a Job Fair was organized by Model Career Centre, VRCH, Bhubaneswar inside its campus situated at Gandamunda, Bhubaneswar. There are 12 PAN India Companies such as HDFC Bank Ltd, Axix Bank Ltd and L&T Finance, AEGIS, Annapurna Microfinance Pvt Ltd, GARGSON group (Renault, Ford and New Leaf) , Eureka Forbes, Devyani International (for KFC and Pizza Hut), Innov Source Pvt Ltd (for Dish TV, Godrej and Boyce and SBI Card Payment), Garg Logistics, Gupta Power Infrastructure Ltd, Reliance Industries Ltd, participated in this placement drive and 318 jobseekers (disabled and non-disabled registered). After registration of job-seekers they have been counseled and scheduled their interview by matching their eligibility and requirements of employer. The jobseekers were mobilized from registered jobseekers in National Career Service (NCS) Portal, registered candidates at Vocational Rehabilitation Centre for Handicapped (VRCH), Bhubaneswar, trained candidates of different Skill provider, and some fresher candidates of regional colleges and universities. Around 121 jobseekers (12 persons with disabilities) have been shortlisted by participating employers as per their requirement. The Job Fair was organized in such a manner that all key stakeholders like employers, jobseekers, skill providers, placement organizations and counselors have participated and the programme was well appreciated among all.
During the event, Shri Niten Chandra, IAS, Principal Secretary to Government, Government of Odisha, Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD), Ms Anjana Panda, OAS (S), Deputy Director (Employment), and Sri Asit Panda, Regional Assistant Director (Employment), from Odisha State Employment Mission Society, Government of Odisha, and Shri Ashok Kumar Behera, Chief Vigilance Officer, OAS (S), Odisha Mining Corporation visited and interacted with the participating employers. Shri J. Padmanav Rao, young professional, Model Career Centre-VRCH. Bhubaneswar was coordinating the entire event and dedicated staff of VRC made it successful under the leadership of Shri. Ram Kishore Sharma, Assistant Director (Rehabilitation).
Model Career aims to organize more job fairs in the near future, with utmost sincerity and integrity so that more stakeholders can take the benefit of such platforms.
