Ananadpur: In a tragic incident, an elephant reportedly trampled a youth in Keonjhar district of Odisha on Sunday night. The incident took place in the Ravensapur village of Bali Bandh section under Champua Forest range.
The deceased has been identified as Ratha Munda of Ravensapur. As per reports, yesterday night at about 2 am Ratha Munda came out of his house to urinate on the roadside. At this juncture, a tusker elephant lurking in front of his house caught him and trampled him on the foot, resulting in his death on the spot.
On receiving information, the forest department reached the spot, seized the body and sent it to Champua sub-divisional hospital for autopsy. There were 32 elephants in the Nungothani village forest, when a tusker elephant got separated from the herd and caused such a tragedy in Ravensapur village.
