Kalahandi, May 31: Today the Kalahandi police arrested a Sarpanch here on charges of allegedly raping a minor at Badachhatranga village under Thuamul Rampur block here. According to the filed complaint, the Sarpanch named Hadinga Majhi had developed a physical relationship with the minor, a Dalit, upon promising to marry her. But he later he refused to do so. A complaint was the filed at the PS based on which the Sarpanch has been arrested. Investigation is going on and action would be initiated once the inquiry is done, the Kalahandi SP said.
