Bhubaneswar, Aug 9: : The opposition Congress party would launch a five-day Kandhamal Adhikar Yatra and would be inaugurated at Gumudumah on Tuesday, to protest the inaction of the State Government even a month after the Gumudumaha firing incident, which took the lives of five innocent villagers.
A public meeting is also organized at Kurttamgarh today around noon.
The party activists would continue the Yatra tomorrow after spending the night at Tumudibandha. Many senior leaders of the party are scheduled to join the Yatra that would end at Baliguda on August 13.
In response to the opposition party’s move, BJD said that the Yatra would have no impact and the Congress is just politicking the matter which is already being investigated by a Special Investigation Team (SIT). It further said that strong action will also be taken against the persons found to be guilty.
