Baripada, Apr 14: On charges of having an alleged extra-marital affair, the Kangaroo court thrashed a man and a widow on the streets of Ambajoda village under Betanati police limits here in Mayurbhanj where the duo was lynch-mobbed.
On Tuesday, the court sat down to discuss as to why the particular man visited the woman’s house that too regularly and what relationship did they have. On not finding the duo’s answer satisfactory, the court gave its judgement and punished them. Upon being intimidated, the cops arrived at the spot and rescued the victimized duo and also detained 12 accused in the incident.
IIC of Betnati PS, Minati Biswal stated that a meeting was organized and supposedly some people in drunken state started an altercation that resulted in a violent situation. The complaint had been received in time and the matter has been handled now. A total of 3 cases have been registered with the arrest of 12.
