Chief Secretary directed to focus on timely completion of the projects and quality enhancement in service delivery.  

Bhubaneswar: May 29: In addition to the regular budgetary spending by Government of Odisha,  the DMF and OMBADC sources have provided the extra boosts for inclusive and sustainable development in Keonjhar district.   It was known from a review meeting taken by Chief Secretary Sri Aditya Prasad Padhi in secretariat conference hall today. Reviewing the progress, Chief Secretary directed to focus on timely completion of the projects. Sri Padhi directed to take up drinking water projects in the district on saturation mode meeting requirement of all the villages. Further, Sri Padhi advised the district administration to plan such projects which add to the quality of service delivery particularly, in the sectors of health, skill development, additional nutrition to the women and children, quality education at primary level.

Review revealed that in addition to the ongoing projects and programmes financed from budgetary sources, more 564 numbers of projects have been envisaged for the districts from the DMF and OMBADC funds. Collector Keonjhar Sri Ashish Kumar Thakare appraised that as of now 551 projects estimated around Rs.1017 cr have been sanctioned under DMF. These projects are in the sectors of health, infrastructure, education, skill development, irrigation, watershed development, women & child welfare and afforestation. Out of these 551 projects around 120 projects have been completed and others are in various stages of implementation. Chief Executive Officer, OMBADC Smt Uma Nanduri appraised that 13 projects estimated around Rs.2500 cr for the district are under active consideration of Government. The projects would be sanctioned soon for implementation in the district during the current year.

Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary Sri R. Balakrishnan, Principal Secretary Panchyati Raj Sri Deo Ranjan Kumar Singh, Chief Executive Officer OMBADC Smt Uma Nanduri,   Mission Director, Panchyati Raj department Smt Roopa Mishra, Additional Secretary Planning & Coordination Sri Debendra Kumar Jena, Collector Keonjhar Sri Thakare along with senior officers from respective departments participated in discussions.
