Key projects worth Rs. 335.77 cr approved by HPC to boost infra development

Bhubaneswar: The first meeting of the High-Power Committee (HPC) on the SIDBI Cluster Development Fund (SCDF) and Urban Infrastructure Development Fund (UIDF) for FY 2024-25 was successfully held on Tuesday. Chaired by the Development Commissioner Anu Garg, the meeting focused on the progress and future plans for critical infrastructure projects in the state.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from various state departments, including the Industries and MSME Department, Finance Department, Works Department, HT&H Department, IDCO, Municipal Administration, Horticulture, and representatives from SIDBI and NHB.
A key highlight of the meeting was the approval of two major projects under SCDF, totalling Rs. 335.77 crore, proposed by the Industries Department. These include the establishment of a 10 MLD Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) and a 30 MLD Deep Sea Discharge facility in Paradip, which are expected to significantly improve the industrial infrastructure in the region.
In another significant development, the Common Utility Corridor in Gopalpur, Ganjam, with a project cost of Rs. 173.02 crore, was approved. This will be the first of its kind in Odisha, designed to serve the needs of existing and future industries in the Gopalpur Industrial Park, supporting the state’s growing industrial demand.
During the meeting, the committee also reviewed the status of ongoing SCDF projects and discussed new proposals. The implementing departments were instructed to expedite project execution as per the established timelines and ensure the timely submission of reimbursement claims to the Finance Department.
Besides, the HPC advised departments to identify and propose eligible infrastructure projects under the UIDF to further enhance urban infrastructure across the state.
