Kodinga Tahasildar Convicted in Vigilance Case

Nabarangpur: Subrat Kumar Behera, the former Tahasildar-cum-Sub-Registrar of Tarva in Subarnapur district at present the Tahasildar of Kodinga in Nabarangpur district has been convicted and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of three years.

The Special Judge, Vigilance, Balangir convicted and sentenced the former Tahasildar-cum-Sub-Registrar of Tarva and imposed a fine of Rs 30,000 on him. Behera was charge-sheeted by Odisha Vigilance vide Sambalpur Vigilance PS Case No.29 dt.16.11.2020 U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 for demanding and taking bribe of Rs.20,000 from a complainant for registration of sale deed towards sale of his land.

Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for dismissal of the present Kodinga Tahasildar from service following his conviction. Earlier on Tuesday, Subhrajeet Sahoo, the former Amin of Sadar Tahasil in Dhenkanal, at present working as the Amin of Gondia Tahasil was convicted by Special Judge, Vigilance, Dhenkanal and has been sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of three years. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on him.

Sahoo was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in a case vide Cuttack Vigilance PS case No.1 dt.03.01.2019 U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act,2018 for demanding and taking bribe from a complainant  in order to submit demarcation report of his plots.
