Bolangir, Apr 18: The leopard which was hiding in a cowshed was finally caught by the forest officials after a 12-hours long rescue operation which took place in the Kuruli village under Kantabanji range. During the operation, the leopard led an attack on the IIC of the Tureikela police station. Upon catching, it was taken to Harishankar.
In the meantime, before the forest officials arrived, the leopard had already attacked one in the village and had entered into another’s house. After the officials reach, the IIC of Tureikela PS to get a sight of the animal (leopard), climbed on to the roof of the house, but unfortunately, the leopard which was hiding inside the house, jumped out through the roof and attacked on the IIC. Following to which the IIC jumped of the roof injuring himself, but is stated to be safe.
Notably, the leopard entered the Kuruli Village in the Kantabanji forest range and was hiding inside a cowshed. After noticing it, people informed the concerned officials, who came for it’s rescue. But the officials while trying to whoosh it off from inside the shed, it attacked the the ranger along with two others, injuring them.
