Bhubaneswar, Sept 28: On Tuesday, opposing the construction of the plant in the area, locals barged in and ransacked Danagadi Bhawan in Kalinganagar where the public hearing was being conducted for the establishment of a cement factory by the Emami Group in the area.
Reportedly, while the hearing was conducted in the presence of the Jajpur ADM and other senior officials along with security arrangements, locals opposing the setting up of the unit, barged in the venue shouting anti-project slogans and hurled plastic chairs kept at the venue.
However, as the tension mounted, the district administration had to vacate the venue and cancel the public hearing.
