Cuttack, May 31: Yesterday, Ramdaspur Panchayat under Baranga Tehsil here was gripped in panic as some locals opposed the boundary wall construction at the Gitanjali Gems Industrial Park by the IDCO. Several locals also women under the banner of the Adivasi Adhikar Manch have to some extent destroyed the semi-constructed boundary wall. They have alleged that the state government has snatched the land from the poor Dalits, Adivasis and traditional forest dwellers and have handed them to IDCO. On the other hand, two platoons of police force have been deployed to avoid any untoward incident. In 2016, the land had been acquired by IDCO after Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik laid the foundation stone for setting up the Gitanjali Gems Industrial Park.
