Keonjhar, May 25: Protesting against undeclared power cut in the region, few locals today gheraoed the NESCO office here and garlanded an official of the same with shoes.
Notably, the members of Keonjhar civil society protested in front of the NESCO office demanding no power cuts in the region. The locals also demanded NESCO, Keonjhar to return the Best Electrical Division Award it had received.
However after getting no assurance of no power cuts, the locals manhandled the sub-divisional officer Maheswar Sethy, took him to the roads and garlanded him with shoes.
On the other hand, Sethy talking about the issues said, new electric poles are being set up, while a new electric grid will be set up soon in the area, following to which there won’t be any powers cuts.
