Balasore, Oct 22: Today the locals of Simulia and Khaira blocks in Balasore district demonstrated Rail Roko at the station thus demanding renovation and halt of three express trains at the station.
This led to the disruption of a number of trains at the Markona Railway Station. The locals belonged to the Simulia Khaira Nagarika Manch and they demanded to halt the Puri-Howrah Jagannath and Dhauli express trains at the Markona station. The activists came up to this step when a series of hunger stirs at the station from the last two days could not work. Thus, due to this situation the Howrah-Puri Passenger train is now stranded at the station.
Also the activists also resorted to the Simulia Bazaar bandh thus making several shops shut down thus affecting normal life in the affected area.
