Bhubaneswar: The low pressure over Bay of Bengal is likely to cause heavy rain in Odisha. By May 27, a low pressure area is likely to form in the west-central and adjoining north Bay of Bengal.
This low pressure will intensify further in the next two days. Due to its influence, there is a possibility of rain in various parts of the state from May 27 to May 31. The regional meteorological center situated here in Bhubaneswar has predicted that there may be heavy rain in some places.
However, there is no cyclone threat to Odisha. No estimates have been made by the IMD regarding the possible cyclone. Some media agencies have been reporting that a cyclone will hit Odisha. But the IMD has clarified that this is fake news.
The IMD has said that there will be Kalbaisakhi effect in the entire state for the next seven days. Thunderstorms are likely to occur along with rain and gusty winds. Yellow warning has been issued for 12 districts today for thunderstorms. Similarly, yellow warning has been given to 11 districts for tomorrow.
