Bolangir, Apr 12: Today the Vigilance simultaneously raided houses of Mahalei Livestock Inspector Pradeep Mishra for possessing property disproportionate to his known sources of income. Raids took place at five places based on a search warrant issued by Bolangir Special Vigilance Judge. State Vigilance raided houses in Mahalei and Utkal Nagar, ancestral home at Beherapalli, another residence at Ulunda and father-in-law’s house at Kelenda village. Bank account passbooks belonging to different persons were recovered while the raid. Vigilance DSP, Bargarh, Rabi Narayan Patra stated to media that documents including record of rights of different persons and loan documents have been seized. It seems the Mahalei Livestock Inspector was involved in getting loans for others. On the other hand, Pradeep denied these charges stating that there are no assets which are unknown to his income and the property which he has is inherited from his father who was also a state government staff and being a Livestock Inspector, he has to sanction dairy loan and so he has kept the passbooks for verification to be sure that a loanee has not taken any loans earlier.
