Mahanadi cum Polavaram: Odisha CM begins signature drive today in Cuttack, Odisha

Cuttack, Nov 11: The ruling Biju Janata Dal today launched a signature campaign in Cuttack thus protesting against the ongoing Mahanadi and Polavaram issues.  Odisha’s CM Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the campaign at the Christian field in front of Anand Bahwan here.

It’s stated that as a part of the drive, each family of the state would give his signature which will be taken to the President Pranab Mukherjee.

Naveen Patnaik addressing the public meet said that he and his party have had serious discussions with a number of other parties, organizations and personalities over the pertaining Mahanadi issue. He also said that regarding the same he had visited Delhi where he had discussions with Chhattisgarh and the Central governments. Highlighting the discussion, he said that necessary demands have been made to the Chhattisgarh government to stop the work on Mahanadi. Regarding the same, a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also written thus seeking his intervention into the matter. If required, then the party would also move to the court regarding the same.

Earlier in the day, women BJD workers led a kalash yatra.
