Bhubaneswar, Nov 7: Keeping in view its plan for a mega human chain and a signature campaign, the ruling BJD party will hold a meeting on Monday to prepare strategies for the campaign. The meeting will be attended by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and along with him, Party MLAs, MP and other leaders also will join the meeting. The date and strategy for the campaign will be decided in the meeting, sources said. As per the information, to gather attention of the people over the Mahanadi issue, a decision to organize a 500 km long human chain campaign has been taken by the Party that would start from Hirakud and would pass through Sambalpur, Redhakhol, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack and Tirtol before concluding at Paradip.
Besides, with the help of the campaign, the BJD party has planned to protest the barrage construction work by the Chhattisgarh government on upper catchment areas of Mahanadi River. The party will also protest the Centre’s monopoly activities over the Mahanadi issue.
