Bhubaneswar, Oct 20: After permission from a local court in Odisha capital, Prabhas Chandra Rout, OSCAR Group’s owner and Muna Patra, Director of the firm, have been taken into remand by Maharashtra police on Wednesday for interrogation under a remand period of 14 days.

As per reports, Maharashtra police has been given the order to produce the two in the court on November 2.

It may be noted that few months back, a complaint against Rout was lodged with the Odisha Crime Branch Economic Offences Wing (EOW) by the duped investors of Maharashtra. The investors claimed that the group had duped around Rs 15 crore by collecting money through its six office branches in Maharashtra.

They also alleged that Ollywood actors Papu Pom Pom, Uttam Mohanty, Archita and Kajal Mishra were present in a function organized by the OSCAR group in Gujarat to endorse and promote the company.

Besides, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Odisha Crime Branch had filed a preliminary charge sheet against the OSCAR chit fund company at the sub-divisional judicial magistrate court on October 16, which includes the names of Prabhas Rout and Muna Patra and six other persons for their alleged involvement in the chit fund scam.
