Sambalpur, JAN 7: Mahila Congress activists Wednesday showed black flags to School and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra, who was here to attend the platinum jubilee ceremony of Nrusingha Guru Town High School.
The Congress activists demonstrated when the minister was on his way to the School to attend the function.
However, the Minister went ahead with his programme and attended the event.
SDPO Sambalpur G Mohanty said four women activists have been arrested in this connection.
Mahila Congress leader Surekha Sahu said, “We protested during the visit of the minister against the large scale irregularities in allocation of ration cards under National Food Security Act (NFSA).”
She said many BJD leaders have availed ration cards while deserving poor have been deprived of the scheme.
