Make in Odisha to boost Odisha MSME sector: Odisha CM at 38th EIRC Conference in state capital

Bhubaneswar, Dec 10: Yesterday Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that the State Government is taking several policy initiatives to encourage ‘Make in Odisha’, which in turn will provide impetus to MSME sector in the state. He was addressing the 38th Cost Conference of the Eastern India Regional Council (EIRC) and Bhubaneswar Chapter of Institute of Cost Accountants of India.

The MSME sector not only contributes significantly to the GDP of the country but also generates employment for the skilled and unskilled labour. Various schemes have been launched by the government to promote and boost entrepreneurship development and skill enhancement. The government has also introduced several schemes for financial and social inclusion for the vulnerable sections of society to provide them with adequate protection and security. He further explained that the implementation of GST in India would enhance investor confidence, promote transparency and good governance in the corporate environment.

Speaking about the role of cost and management accountants in the initiatives of government, he encouraged them to suggest suitable strategies by resource mapping to increase efficiency and productivity for sustainable economic growth of the state and the nation.
