Mallikarjun Kharge is now the official leader of the Congress party. He is the first non-Gandhi leader of the party in 24 years.
Before taking over the responsibility, Kharge paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at the Rajghat, and he also went to the Samta Sthal and the Shakti Sthal. On Wednesday, he officially became the president of Congress.
Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and other senior party leaders were all there. Rahul Gandhi stopped his Bharat Jodo Yatra, which is still going on, and attended the Kharge takeover.
