Dhenkanal, Dec 14: In a Shocking incident a married woman was allegedly thrown with acid by her husband’s friend at the district on Tuesday.
Identified as Runi daughter of Harihar Nayak of Kainjhar Village under Angul had married to Bikas Nayak of Nuapatna Village in 2009, Runi also had a son with Bikas during their relation. Since few months due to a family fight Runi has been staying with his son separately from his husband at Angul. Due to this, earlier Bikas had filed a case with the police against her staying separate. In hearing for the case Runi had come to the court yesterday.
After the session Bikas took Runi for a bike ride. On the way Bikas stopped the bike in a lonely road saying that he has to meet a friend, who was coming here. Runi believed him and got down the bike, while she was standing on the road side another man on bike came, opened a bottle of acid and threw it on her burning her face completely. With this the man and Bikas ran away from the spot. Hearing Runi voice and cry for help, the locals ran to her, rescued her and reached her to the nearest government hospital, but after her condition deteriorated she was shifted to the DHH, Dhenkanal.
Police have reached the hospital and the search for the culprits have started.
