Pipili, Nov 28: A matchmaker identified as Gandharba Nayak, 55, of Mangalpur village under Pipili police limits who made the match in the victim’s marriage ceremony with a youth of Balpur village under Sakhigopal Police limits on July 14 this year, did not last long and interestingly she returned to her parental house at Uttara few months ago, the very next day of tying the knot.
The accused Gandharba Nayak was staying at his father-in-law’s home in Uttara on the city outskirts. Surprisingly, both the victim and the accused fell in love with each other and the later developed a physical relation with her on the pretext of marrying her. But later refused to keep up to his promise.
The victim who is three months pregnant, along with her family filed a complaint filed at Uttara Police outpost. The accused has been arrested and forwarded to court as the police continues to interrogate.
