Bhubaneswar, Feb 22: A total of 6,01,348 regular and ex-regular students are appearing in the Matric examination in as many as 2,882 centres across the State which began today.

The Board of Secondary Education has set up 305 nodal centres including 22 police stations as nodal centres for safe custody of question papers and OMR sheets with 24-hour security.

The Board of Secondary Education has made elaborate arrangements to conduct the examination smoothly.

The question papers on Sunday were dispatched to the examination centres from the Nodal Centres amidst tight security.

The District collectors and SPs have been directed by the Chief Secretary to ensure smooth conduct of the examination.

Over one hundred flying squads have been formed to curb malpractice incidents during the examination.

The Block Grant school teachers finally agreed to cooperate with the Board in the conduct of the examination at the directive of the Orissa High Court.

For the first time, BSE had uploaded the admit cards of the students on the website www.indiaresults.com on January 30 this year.

Most of the students have already downloaded their admit card from the website, a system introduced for the first time this year.

The Board had informed the students and the guardians about its preparation for the examination through the media.
