Mayo Clinic plans cancer institute in Odisha

US-based Mayo Clinic has expressed keenness to set up a global level cancer research institute in Odisha. This came up when Mayo Clinic representative Dr Debabrata Mukhopadhyaya met state Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here.  A press statement released by the Chief Minister’s

office said, Mayo Clinic, which is a top global cancer research institute, has expressed its interest to set up a cancer research institute in Odisha.

The Chief Minister assured Mukhopadhyaya that the state government would provide all possible support for success of the project.   All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) will also provide support for setting up the state-of-the-art Cancer Research Institute in Odisha.
