Keonjhar: June 7: Keonjhar Police arrested Naba Apat for his alleged involvement in the firing incident took place on Friday at Barabanka ghat on NH-215. In the incident Industrialist Bidyadhar Palei had a close shave and his driver sustained bullet injuries. It is said, the miscreants fired indiscriminately on the vehicle and fled away from the spot. The incident happened while Palai was returning to Barbil from his Nuagaon office.
Business rivalry over the transportation of minerals may be reason behind the incident as said by Keonjhar Police. Talking to the media persons, DK Sahani, Addl SP said, ‘after investigation and marathon interrogation, we arrested Naba, who had hired supari killers from Jharkhand to kill Palei’. Police is trying to arrest miscreants involved in the incident, added Sahani.
Naba Apat is the brother of former BJD district vice-president Kusha Apat.
