Bhubaneswar, Jan 11: In connection to the misbehaving and groping incident of three girls, the witnesses have recognized the three allegedly accused during the test identification (TI) parade conducted in the presence of a magistrate in Jharpada jail here on Tuesday. The accused are all in their mid-20s. It is alleged that they have physically harassed the three girls near magnet square on Patia-Nandankanan road on Friday when the victims were returning from Nandankanan zoo at around 3.10 pm. The unruly accused have said to stalk them and passed lewd comments at them. When the girls protested, the youths attacked them. Had the girls not shot a video, showing their faces and bike, the miscreants would have remained unknown.
Police sources have said that the statements of the witnesses have also been recorded under Section 160. Another accused, Saroj Tripathy, was also arrested after he surrendered before the police earlier yesterday. Thus till now five in connection with the case have been taken behind bars by the cops. Police said that now also at least five of their accomplices, involved in the incident, are still free. Two of the accused own mobile repair shops and the third one works in the Nandankanan zoo.
