Kendrapara, June 8: Chitrasen Das, the Sarpanch of Singiri Panchayat was ruthlessly beaten up to death by some unknown miscreants on Wednesday morning. Sources said, Das was maltreated while he was going to Aul on his bike at around 6 am. As he came to know that he was being followed by some people, he immediately left his bike and began running but the villains caught hold of him thus beating him brutally till he died. The reason is yet to be confirmed.
The locals immediately block the road near Aul Medical College Square demanding immediate arrest of culprits as well as transfer of Aul Police Station IIC. Vehicular movement was disrupted along Cuttack-Chandabali route due to the roadblock. Sources said, the blockade was withdrawn after the transfer of the IIC by the Kendrapada SP.
