Paradip, Jan 22: A three-day long mock exercise on chemical (Industrial) disaster was held here from January 18.
The programme was conducted by the NDRF and supported by district officials.
Nearly all the establishments, including Paradip Port, IFFCO, IOCL, PPL, Essar Steel representatives participated to learn the intricacies of disaster management.
IFFCO Unit Head Ashis Kumar Panda and PPL’s Nitin Kantak said on the occasion that their plants are fully prepared to meet any emergy in their plants.
NDMA Advisor Major General VK Dutta, officials from IRS, NDMA, NDRF, CISF, Fire Brigade Team, Odisha Police Team and District Administration officials were present during the mock exercise.
