Bhubaneswar, Dec 29: As many as 30 new buses would ply in four Maoist affected districts in the State from the New Year.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik would flag off these services in Bhubaneswar, said Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) CMD Sanjeev Marik.
Marik said the new buses will ply on 28 identified routes in Nuapada, Gajapati, Deogarh and Sundargarh districts.
“The Government has sanctioned Rs 21 crore for the purpose,” said Marik, adding that the service would be available under Biju Gaon Gadi Yojana. The Yojana aims at providing transport to un-serviced and under-serviced villages in hilly, tribal and backward areas.
Though the Government has targeted to ply 33 buses, but it has procured 30 buses while the remaining three would be delivered soon.
