Bhubaneswar, Dec 28: Focusing on the urban mobility in the capital city, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed by the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) with the World Resource Institute (WRI) on Tuesday. As per the MoU, there would be a better intra-city transport service thus lowering the traffic problem in the city.
In the starting phase, four sectors would be kept in focus i.e., public transport through city buses, complete street programme, vehicle parking area and road safety awareness, Dr Krishna Kumar, Vice chairman of BDA informed to newsmen.
Paneled recently as a national training institute by the Ministry of Urban Development, WRI India has been facilitating various initiatives under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation. By conducting various workshops, WRI has been enhancing the skills of the urban local bodies by providing them training and also introducing them to best practices in urban development solutions.
