Mysuru MBA Student Gang Rapped By Six Men

Karnatak Home Minister’s Statement Triggers Controversy

Mysuru, August 27: In a horrific incident, a 22 year old MBA student from Mysuru was allegedly gang rapped by a group of six men on the evening of 24th of August, sources.

On 24th of August at nearly 7.20PM, a group of men, seeing the duo on road, passed rude comments, videotaped the duo and teased them. On objecting, the men became violent and beat up the friend badly and even struck her with stones. Unfortunately, he became unconscious. Soon later they molested and rapped the girl and video taped it too. Before leaving, they also threatened the woman that if she utters a single word to the police, they would release the video to the public.

Nearly six hours after being beaten up, after the boy came into his senses, they reach a nearby hospital at around 1.30AM. At first, upon asking, they inform the doctors that they met with an accident. But after observing, the doctors came into a conclusion that the girl was sexually assaulted. On the early hours of 25th of August, after treating the duo, the hospital called the police. A police complaint was also filed by the friend and an FIR has also been registered on the same. It’s been over two days and the police are yet to nab the culprits.

The woman who faced the brutal attack and violence has sustained severe injuries. Treatment is underway but she is in a state of shock, as a result the police have not been able to get a detailed statement, report sources. The friend however who was beaten up has been treated and is said to have been stable.

Since then, protests across the state has been raging in a faster pace demanding the arrests of the miscreants.

In the meanwhile, the Tourism Minster of Karnataka, Araga Jnanendra, in his statement has triggered a controversy saying that the girl should have gone to a deserted area at night. His remarks drew mass criticism from the opposition congress.

In a report by the Time Now, the News channel upon questioning the BJP leader about his statement, has replied saying,

“there is no question of apologizing, I would just like to withdraw my statement”.
