Nagada malnutrition case; the two-member team returns midway due to bad weather

Bhubaneswar, Aug 10: After the visit of two other Central teams to Nagada village earlier, a two-member Central team that was scheduled to visit Nagada in Jajpur district to look into the matter that took away the lives of as many as 19 infants due to malnutrition, had to return midway due to bad weather conditions and inaccessible road today.

The members of the team, Rupa Kapur and commission advisor Priyanka Singh, belong to the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR).

The team visited some slums at Ashokjhar and the relief centre at Deogan village before returning to Bhubaneswar.

The two-members yesterday held discussions with the Jajpur district collector, CDMO and child welfare committee (CWC) officials at the Tata guest house near Kaliapani and analyzed the situation of the children in the village.
