Mumbai, Oct 22: On Friday night in a dreaded road accident in Nasik district in Maharashtra an Odia pilgrim named Sudhir Behera among three died while being treated leaving 36 Odia pilgrims injured among which 15 of them seriously injured. He belonged to the Aruha village under Dharmasala block in Jajpur district.
It’s stated that a tourist bus having the registration number as MH-17-BD-5155 was on the way to Shirdi carrying 39 Odia pilgrims who belonged to the Dharmasala block in Jajpur district. The incident happened when the driver lost control of the vehicle thus overturning after colliding with a Tempo. The incident took place near Khopdi village under Sinnar Taluka in Nasik.
It took place at around 8pm. While both the drivers of the tempo and bus died on spot, a number of Odia pilgrims succumbed injuries. After receiving information, the police rushed to the spot and admitted all the injured victims to the Nasik Health Care & Research Centre Pvt Ltd and the remaining in Dr Patil Maternity Hospital and Yashwant Hospital.
