Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated Odisha Agri Conclave 2021 and stated that, the State Government is continuously emphasizing on enhancing the income of farmers. CM stressed upon linking farmers directly to market and removing intermediaries with the objective to improve their income.
CM focused on streamlining farmers’ connectivity to aggregators & processors to play role as producers, and need to remove intermediaries who don’t add value to supply chain. CM invited agribusiness leaders to be partners in scripting growth story of Odisha‘s Agri-business.
Citing that farmers lay foundation of nation’s economy, CM said on this foundation, we build pillars of a vibrant economy, with development of agriculture & farmers’ empowerment being priority. CM added farmer-focused approach backed by schemes, programmes are yielding results.
Saying that the state has a conducive policy environment, he said Odisha aspires to become the investment destination of choice by continuously creating and delivering outstanding opportunities for business growth, fostering all round socio-economic development for the state and its people.The Chief Minister added, the state has attained self-sufficiency in food production, and Odisha is now the third largest contributor to nation public distribution system (PDS).
