Bhubaneswar, Jan 16: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to approve the State’s proposal to include 4035 left out habitations under the Core Network of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).

In a letter to the Prime Minster Naveen said that the State Government had earlier pointed out to the Centre that 4035 unconnected habitations had been excluded from the core network of roads prepared for PMGSY during 2001-02 and the Central Cabinet had approved the revision of core network in its meeting on February 7, 2013 to include these habitations in the PMGSY.

The Chief Minister said the MoRD has now asked the State Government to submit detailed project reports (DPRs) of all eligible unconnected habitations for sanction under PMGSY during 2015-16 and 2016-17.

“Unless the MoRD approves the proposal of the State Government to include the 4035 left out habitations, the DPRs for the projects cannot be prepared and these will be deprived of getting the benefit under PMGSY,” Naveen said and requested the Prime Minister to intervene in the matter.
