Bhubaneswar: CM Naveen Patnaik, today urged to Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in a letter, requesting him to set up another bridge on Brahmani river in Rourkela, as soon as possible, as the traffic movement on the old narrow bridge is creating a hurdle everyday in the area.
CM in his letter urged Gadkari to intervene in the matter urgently and also requested him to direct the NHAI to take urgent step in building the bridge on the river so as to avoid traffic congestions on the NH143, connecting Sambalpur and Rourkela.
Notably, the road is mainly used by the mining and commercial traffic, and though the bridge is in a distressed condition, it is clearly unsafe for the movement of man or matter. The bridge issue is also creating hurdles for the steel companies to transport the produces, added Naveen in his letter.
