Gumudumaha, Aug 20: Today in order to discuss steps which need to be initiated by the State Government on Kandhamal killings on July 8, Chairperson of National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST), Rameswar Oraon will meet chief secretary AP Padhi. It’s stated that rehabilitation and resettlement issue of families displaced by the Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) will be the key aspect of the meeting.
On July 13, after having a 3-day visit to Gumudumaha village and attending various programmes there, Oraon had recommended to the State government to increase in the compensation amount offered to the kin of the deceased. Besides, he had also asked the government to take stern action against the Special Operation Group (SOG) jawans for allegedly firing the innocent people.
