No Impact on Odisha by upcoming Cyclone Kyant: MeT Office

Bhubaneswar, Oct 27: Regarding the Cyclone Kyant, the State Government today informed that Odisha will not be affected by the upcoming storm. As per the information given by Pradipta Mohapatra, Special Relief Commissioner, besides some infrequent rainfall, the state will not be affected by the Cyclone Kyant.

A better situation is witnessed in Odisha as compared to the Cyclone situation on Tuesday. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that, it is been expected to move towards south of Vizag, Andhra Pradesh. However coastal areas of the district will remain cloudy having occasional rainfall. Yesterday, IMD releases informed that the Cyclone Kyant will move from the east-south-east Bay of Bengal to West-Central Bay of Bengal in 72 hours. Under this some coastal district as well as some interior districts will receive rainfall on 27th and 28th October but gradually it will lessen down.

However, fishermen has been advised to not to go into sea as the wind speed is expected to increase to 45-50 kmph in coastal areas and will make the sea conditions boisterous. Along with this, all ports of the state has been issued the Distant Warning signal number 2 by the IMD.
