New Delhi, Apr 3: After USA’s trouble with H-1B visas, its Singapore now that is showing dismay to Indian IT professionals. It has not issued VISAs to any Indian IT since Jan 2016. The decision of the city to hire locals have put the Indian IT firms in difficulty. Most of India’s top IT companies from TCS, Infosys, Wipro to Cognizant have offices in Singapore. Nasscom president, R Chandrashekhar stated to media that neither new Visas are to be issued nor the existing ones would be renewed that will ultimately lead to difficulties in maintaining existing level of workforce as a workforce with the required level of expertise is not found among the locals. Singapore has imposed several conditions making it difficult for companies to hire resources from India which is a step to violation of the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement and so the Indian government has halted the review of this pact. Apart from Singapore and US, India is also facing similar visa problems from the UK.
