Bhubaneswar, Dec 31: Noted writer and scientist Dr Nrusingha Charan Panda passed away at his residence in Saheed Nagar here on Wednesday evening.
He was 87.
A multi-disciplinary person Panda has written many books on prose, short-stories, novels and poetries. He has also written books for children. Besides Odia, Panda has also penned books in English.
He was a Sanskrit scholar, a philosopher, a psychologist and historian. He has successfully synthesised the Vedas, the Vedanta and the modern science in many of his books, internationally acclaimed.
He was honoured with coveted awards like Odisha Sahitya Akademi Puraskar, Sharala Puraskar and the 10th Kalinga Book Fair Literary Festival.
