Nursing students put their agitation on hold after 18 days

Bhubaneswar: May 25: Nursing students of SCB Medical College and Hospital kept their agitation on hold after discussing with the Health minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak today morning. Striking students said, Health Minister assured them to fulfil their demands and they are hopeful that, Minister will take action against the Principal.

It is to be noted here, nursing students of SCB Medical College and Hospital had staged a protest at PMG square, Bhubaneswar on yesterday demanding transfer of Principal of the School as well as withdrawal of Sine die from the campus. They had also submitted a memorandum to the state government for the second time and requested to take action against the Principal Kajal Rani Sinha immediately. Striking nursing students had announced yesterday to launch a 24×7 protest at Mahatma Gandhi Marg from 25th May.

The nursing students had been agitating since last 17 days protesting against ill-treatment and casteist remark made by the principal against a nursing student.
