Odisha: 24-hours curfew in Bhadrak from 2 pm

Bhubaneswar: May 12: Curfew has been imposed around Charampa area from 2 pm of 12th May to 2 pm of 13th May.

As stated in the official order, number of Trains are coming to Bhadrak Railway Station (Charampa) carrying large number of returnees of different districts from outside of the State on 12th and 13th May. As such, the influx of large number of people to Bhadrak Railway Station will create a challenge to the administration for smooth dispersal of the returnees to their respective areas and maintenance of law & order in and around the Railway Station area with a view to contain the spread of pandemicCorona Virus Disease (COVID-19).

The prohibition will remain in force for 24 hours from 2 pm today to 2 pm tomorrow.

As stated by the District Administration, the following areas will remain under the prohibition:

1-Within 500 metres radious of Charampa Railway Station.

2- Dagarasahi School Chhak to Ghunthunia Bazar Railway Malgodown Road.

3- Telangasahi Gali Chhak to Kailash Film Hall Chhak.

4-Charampa overbridge Chhak upto Xavier School Chhak

5- Belamala to Railway Station Chhak.

As per the order,

The movement of individuals, non-essential activities shall remain strictly prohibited within the stipulated period.  The vehicles engaged for shifting of the returnees to their destination following the principles laid down by Government of Odisha relating to COVID-19 are allowed.

The OIC of Bhadrak GRP police station, Bhadrak Town police station IIC and IIC of Bhadrak Rural PS have been directed to promulgate and enforce the order and ensure law and order in the prohibited area.

Anybody violating this order shall entail prosecution under the penal provision of Disaster Management Act, 2005  and IPC.
