Odisha announces shelter assistance for construction workers

Bhubaneswar, Nov 4: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday announced the launch of a scheme for construction workers of the state.

The scheme is named ‘Nirman Shramik Pucca Ghar Yojana’ and will start providing shelter to construction workers in the state from next month.

The government has decided to provide Rs.1 lakh as housing grant under the scheme to construction workers through the Odisha Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.

Workers registered for minimum five years, and aged between 18 and 60 years, will be eligible to get the grant to build houses on their own land.
