Bhubaneswar, Feb 16: Odisha government on Monday assured all help to the Centre for development of a polypropylene plant, proposed by the Indian Oil Corporation at Paradip.
Union Petroleum & Natural Gas Minster Dharmendra Pradhan had a discussion with State Chief Secretary AP Padhi on the sidelines of the Make in India Conference-cum-Exhibition in Mumbai in this regard.
Padhi discussed the roadmap to develop downstream petrochemical industry in and around Paradip which will be supported by the 15 MMTPA Paradip refinery. It was agreed that Indian Oil Corporation should adhere to the timelines for development of Polypropylene Plant and other projects which are at various stage of implementation.
BPCL and HPCL requested the State government for land in Koraput for a LPG plant on Common User Facility (CUF) basis. Representatives of the State government agreed to consider this favourably on priority basis.
It was agreed to develop a new location by BPCL and HPCL in and around Sambalpur in a non- irrigated land with feasibility of railway siding as a replacement of CUF Maneswar with assistance from the State government.
Pradhan requested the State government for allocation of land for early commencement of Hydrocarbon Skill Development Institute in the State capital.
During the meeting the State government requested the Union Minister for setting up of an aviation refuelling facility in Koraput district for helicopters of BSF and the State government.
