Bhubaneswar: September 01: Biju Janata Dal’s mass membership drive shall begin on September 2 and continue till October 31. Chairing the Biju Janata Dal executive meeting her today, BJD Supremo Naveen Patnaik said that, the party chief will assess the progress of the membership drive once in every 15 days’. Patnaik also advised the leaders of the party to actively take part in the membership drive of the party.
BJD has set a target to add 50 lakh more members during the drive and Supremo of the party held discussions with all members of the executive committee, MLAs, MPs, State functionaries, party’s frontal organisations, district functionaries and other leaders.
Naveen advised the leaders present in the meeting for promoting and spreading the philosophies of Mahatma Gandhi and also, he asked the leaders to intensify ‘Jeebana Bindu’, a blood donation programme of the party.
He also instructed the BJD leaders to act as agents of transformation and bring cheer in the lives of the people of Odisha.
BJD Supremo also thanked the people of Odisha and members of BJD for electing him for the fifth time to lead the State.
Patnaik has formed a state-level committee to monitor the membership drive.
